BABY PHOTOGRAPHY KENT - 9 MONTHS

Do you ever have a day when you think I need cheering up? last week so one of those days and than along came baby E, nine months and adorable, I got to improve my baby photography skills some more and take some wonderful photographs of him.  The sun was out and there was very little shade so I had my work cut out for me, but I think we got some wonderful shoots which mum and dad are just going to love.

Until next time baby E you was a pleasure to photograph and brighten up my day.

African wedding photography : Part One

Dolly and Jimi's wedding was my first really big african wedding, it was a long day 10am till 10pm, but I loved every moment of it, because it was so different to any other wedding I've been to before, boy can they dance check back later for pictures of the dancing.

This is part one of my african wedding blog: The Ceremony

50's Wedding

Back in March I attended the wedding of the Lovely Bianca and Toby and today their wedding as been published on Fifties wedding, Bianca and Toby were so Lovely to work with I'm very excited for them take a look and leave a comment.

NATURAL BABY PHOTOGRAPHY: 10 MONTHS OLD

Still a baby but not for much longer, Alana is now 10 months old and I love taking her photograph, just look at those eyes and cheeky grin it won't be long now before she is walking and than there will be no stopping her.

I just love the colours in these photographs taken last week of my niece so lovely for me there is nothing like having photographs of your baby in their natural environment doing everyday things.

If you would like a baby portrait done I come to your home and photograph your baby doing everyday thing, eating, drinking, playing with their toys I find your baby is a lot more relaxed with their own things around them and we can get some lovely relaxed natural shoots of your baby at this special age.

EMMA AND DARREN E-SESSION: GRAVESEND KENT

I'm a little late blogging my e-session from Emma and Darren's session taken last week, we had wonderful weather even at 11am in the morning as we walked around Gravesend park, I love this park there is so many places to take photographs and you are right by the river as well.

Emma and Darren are getting married end of May at cooling castle really looking forward to their wedding will get to use my Fun Booth for the first time.

FIRST LOOK AND FORMALS BEFORE YOUR CEREMONY: YES OR NO

In America it is very popular for couples to have a first look photo shoot before their ceremony this takes place about two hours, bride and groom will meet in an agreed placed, such as the grounds of your wedding venue.  I think this is a brilliant idea from both a bride and photographer point of view (my groom is having none of this, will not entertain the idea at all).  What do other people think about this.

Reason I think this is a brilliant idea is because the first time you get to see each other on your wedding day you can be emotional with each other without having peering eyes on you I think this is valuable time before you go off to get married you get to see each other all done up (and who really believes it is bad luck to see the bride before the ceremony.......... only ever really apply to a church wedding).  Once you've had your first look and had some time to be with each other as a photographer I would than start taking your portraits in a more relaxed manner where you have not got your guest keen to talk to you after we have taken your couple photos we would go on and meet your bridal party and take all those formal photos that you really would like taken we can have fun and everyone get excited for the ceremony about 45mins before we will stop so you can freshen up and   get ready for your ceremony.

Advantages to this are that you can get most of your formal photographs done before the ceremony meaning you have more time afterwards to mingle with your guest which surely is better for you and them.  Also if you are having a winter wedding or later wedding you do not need to worry about the light because if your having your photos taken before your ceremony there will still be plenty of light for lovely outdoors pictures.

So I ask the question is having a first look and formals before the ceremony a good idea what do you think?

Below is my timeline with doing your formals before the ceremony.

WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY KENT: E-SESSIONS

I thought I would do a post on e-sessions (engagement shot) before your wedding day, what to think about when booking an e-sessions and why you can benefit from one.

BABY PHOTOGRAPHY - 9 MONTHS

What lovely weather we been having this past week.  I took advantage of the weather to get some updated pictures of my georgous niece Alana, 9 months and growing so quick.

BIANCA AND TOBY: Rochester Castle wedding photography

Today I attended the wedding of Bianca and Toby. I had such a good time photographing them. Bianca and Toby were laid back and really enjoyed being with each other.

Bianca opted for a tea length Audrey Hepburn style dress and she looked wonderful, so elegant and chic I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT !!! (a girl after my own heart). Am impressed that she did not feel the need for flowers and instead opted for a lovely gold clutch bag, which added to the elegance and style of her dress. This has given me an idea for my own wedding later this year, as I've been struggling with carrying a bouquet. I really do not feel that holding flowers is right for me, no matter have beautiful they are.
Bianca may of encouraged me not to carry a bouquet and maybe opt for a rather nice bag instead (which can of course be used again after the wedding).

MY WEDDING : Maidstone wedding photography

Nicky and Tamiro went on to the Grange Moore Hotel for their wedding reception where the main event was the dancing and boy do they know how to dance I was so impressed it made me want to go out and learn how to dance.

MY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER : KENT WEDDINGS

Last Saturday I attended my first wedding of the year and pleased to say the rain stayed away for the wedding of Nicky and Tamiro. Nicky choose a warm champagne colour dress with a wonderful shrug to keep her warm the colour of the dress sorted her just lovely.

The ceremony was held at the beautiful Otham church and than onto The Grange Moore Hotel in Maidstone, dinner with their family and friends and than Nicky and Tamiro danced into the night, celebrating their marriage with joy that was so much fun to watch.

Below is part one of their sneak peek more to follow tomorrow
