BABY PHOTOGRAPHY KENT - 9 MONTHS

Do you ever have a day when you think I need cheering up? last week so one of those days and than along came baby E, nine months and adorable, I got to improve my baby photography skills some more and take some wonderful photographs of him.  The sun was out and there was very little shade so I had my work cut out for me, but I think we got some wonderful shoots which mum and dad are just going to love.

Until next time baby E you was a pleasure to photograph and brighten up my day.

NATURAL BABY PHOTOGRAPHY: 10 MONTHS OLD

Still a baby but not for much longer, Alana is now 10 months old and I love taking her photograph, just look at those eyes and cheeky grin it won't be long now before she is walking and than there will be no stopping her.

I just love the colours in these photographs taken last week of my niece so lovely for me there is nothing like having photographs of your baby in their natural environment doing everyday things.

If you would like a baby portrait done I come to your home and photograph your baby doing everyday thing, eating, drinking, playing with their toys I find your baby is a lot more relaxed with their own things around them and we can get some lovely relaxed natural shoots of your baby at this special age.

FIRST LOOK AND FORMALS BEFORE YOUR CEREMONY: YES OR NO

In America it is very popular for couples to have a first look photo shoot before their ceremony this takes place about two hours, bride and groom will meet in an agreed placed, such as the grounds of your wedding venue.  I think this is a brilliant idea from both a bride and photographer point of view (my groom is having none of this, will not entertain the idea at all).  What do other people think about this.

Reason I think this is a brilliant idea is because the first time you get to see each other on your wedding day you can be emotional with each other without having peering eyes on you I think this is valuable time before you go off to get married you get to see each other all done up (and who really believes it is bad luck to see the bride before the ceremony.......... only ever really apply to a church wedding).  Once you've had your first look and had some time to be with each other as a photographer I would than start taking your portraits in a more relaxed manner where you have not got your guest keen to talk to you after we have taken your couple photos we would go on and meet your bridal party and take all those formal photos that you really would like taken we can have fun and everyone get excited for the ceremony about 45mins before we will stop so you can freshen up and   get ready for your ceremony.

Advantages to this are that you can get most of your formal photographs done before the ceremony meaning you have more time afterwards to mingle with your guest which surely is better for you and them.  Also if you are having a winter wedding or later wedding you do not need to worry about the light because if your having your photos taken before your ceremony there will still be plenty of light for lovely outdoors pictures.

So I ask the question is having a first look and formals before the ceremony a good idea what do you think?

Below is my timeline with doing your formals before the ceremony.

BABY PHOTOGRAPHY - 9 MONTHS

Baby Photography Kent: {Session two: 7 Months old slideshow}

Slideshow if Jack I love it, I'm thinking of offering a slideshow with all baby portrait session would people like this?

Baby photography Kent: {Session two: 7 Months old}

Babies grown so quickly and they change so much in their first two years of life and I find it amazing to watch how they change and explore the world around them. Jack was just 9 days old when I first meet him and he is now 7 months old and full of life, he loves his feet and he loves all things nature.

I love it that more and more parents can see the benefits to natural photography instead of posed shots in a studio, having more time to allow Jack to just do as he wanted and explore the garden I believe has resulted in a wonderful set of natural photographs which really show Jack's personality which is not always captured in a studio environment.

Check back later in the week for slideshow and video clip of Jack.
